Busy Weekend

I think it's a product of Air Force living... we never really know how long we will live someplace so we feel like we have to do EVERYTHING before we move. Case in point, last Saturday we hit the beach early, in Maryland, drove back to Virginia for a festival and then spent the evening in our garage....

Here we are at North Beach, MD - about an hour from our house. It's a netted swimming area and James could wade in to his shoulders and still touch the ground. Great? Or recipe for future disaster?
Here is little mister confident....

Molly and I watch the action from the shore....

Until she decides it's all too much and takes a long beach nap....

Shortly after this photo, we were told that there are "no tents allowed at the beach." We politely informed the beach police (age 12, I swear!) that it isn't a tent, it's a cabana and there's a baby sleeping in it, but no go. We had to take it down. So we did and then we left. Boo hiss to you North Beach!

Back to VA for the 233rd USA/ 260th Alexandria Birthday Celebration which they do every year, the weekend following 4th of July. There were local vendors with games and freebies including a free karate lesson right there on the spot. Of course, James stepped right up, did a couple of moves and then told this man that he was "silly." So we moved on....

... and then the rain came so we ran (!) back to our house to find our neighbors huddled in their garage with a wedge of cheese on a plate on a stepladder. You know, that just will not do so we opened up our garage, rolled out the "grass," plated up some snacks and stayed up until midnight. Have I mentioned how much we love living in the Mews?

Very busy weekend.

You both are super and I am so happy that you are enjoying everything you can while you can. Just avoid getting stationed in NM or AZ. Too hot, not enought green spaces(trees)and no really close by free entertainment for family outings. Your activities brings back memories of family enjoyment when we were young.Thorns to the persons who said no shelter from the sun for sleeping babies.
