Great great GREAT weekend at Big Uncle Kevin's on the Jersey Shore! James kept his usual schedule of wake at 6am and go full speed until 9pm so we were busy and trips to Starbucks were mandatory, but it's always fun. The house is 1/2 a block from the beach, Brian's cousin Katherine is always whipping up some delicious food and James is never lacking a playmate.

This trip had a special bonus: we met Brian's Aunt Susan whom he has not seen since he was James' age. She immediately scooped up Molly and Molly loved her. Aunt Susan was so cool.

I know I have mentioned it before, but MAN, my kids love Missy! Molly smiles THIS big around her all the time and James asks about her for WEEKS after we've seen her.

Cousin Taylor invented a fun game of "surprise attack James in the water" and he ATE IT UP.

Here's just one of many many many holes dug by KC. Here's how it goes:
James asks for a hole.
KC digs toddler-size hole.
James jumps in it.
KC buries James.
James laughs and then immediately asks to be dug out.
KC digs James out.
James ask for a hole...

This was James' first ride on a boogie board with Uncle Kevin.

I think James would have stayed in the ocean until midnight if it weren't for the freezing cold water and the fact that his lips kept turning purple. He would stand in front of me, teeth chattering, skin full of goosebumps, and purple lips saying, "let's go back in the ocean!"

Here he is warming up with Big Uncle Kevin and cousin Katherine.

Molly took a great ocean-side nap and spent the rest of her time just looking adorable (and "healthy") in her size 6-12 month bikini....

and trying to eat the camera....

Oh yeah, and James and I found a baby rabbit in Uncle Kevin's backyard. I swear it was maybe an hour old.
I reference the "bat situation" here.... we picked up "Buzz Wuv" (James named it), we pet him, made him some baby formula, found a baby carrot, talked about lining the laundry basket with towels for his new home and THEN we looked it up on the world wide web - "what do baby rabbits eat?" Answer: Kitten Replacement Formula. Next sentence: Do not pick up the rabbit. Do not touch the rabbit. You will hurt his chances of survival in the wild and no matter what you do, do not place baby rabbit near any children.

So sorry Buzz Wuv. Best of luck to ya.

Tis a wonderful life for the Coyne family where family means many connections for fun and enjoyment and a lot of love. The adorable baby is now a babe in her swim suit. I am gaga over this babe.
No matter where James is he will find unique things to do for a 3 year old. Thanks for sharing again.
